SAHANA embarked on Ramadan project which coincided with the Yesthaloon Program 2021 launched by the Community Development Authority (CDA), Dubai. More than 4000 iftar meals were distributed in the month of Ramadan. Furthermore, 117 dry ration packs were distributed to distressed Sri Lankan families in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman. Within the Ramadan project, SAHANA also distributed 1000 iftar meals to commemorate International Workers Day on 1st May 2021. The distribution of these iftar meals and dry ration packs were done by the Watani Al Emarat Volunteers who had supported immensely by organizing the locations and managing the crowd.
The kindness and generosity of the Sri Lankan community members including well-wishers, social, professional and past pupil associations were displayed once again to the community in UAE through their valuable sponsorships and voluntary involvement to successfully conclude the Yesthaloon Program 2021. SAHANA is ever so grateful to many non-Sri Lankan nationals who supported with the distribution of iftar meals during the holy month of Ramadan
SAHANA has now built a strong relationship with Watani Al Emarat Volunteers and are looking forward to working with them in their future projects adhering to CDA approvals and guidelines.
A Certificate of Appreciation was awarded to SAHANA by the Community Develop Authority of Dubai for participating in the Yesthaloon Program during the month of Ramadan 2021.
